Fort Lee 2nd Quarter Town Hall

FORT LEE, Virginia â?? As part of an ongoing Army-wide effort to resolve unsatisfactory conditions in Army family housing, Fort Lee leaders will hold a town hall to provide information and gain feedback from residents. The meeting will take place at Fort Lee Memorial Chapel from 4:30-7 p.m. May 22.

The town hall is an internal forum for installation leaders to follow up with Soldiers, Army families and other residents of Fort Lee.  It’s part of a quarterly effort allowing leaders to update the community of efforts to effect change and solicit feedback to gauge resident satisfaction with the quality of recent work orders and their overall experience living in on-post housing.

The commanding general of U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Lee, Maj. Gen. Rodney D. Fogg, will lead the meeting, which will be live-streamed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ArmyFortLee.

“Our residents must have confidence in our commitment to quality housing.  We’ll only achieve that when they see our attention to, and action on the issues they bring to us,” Fogg said.

This is the second open discussion between leaders and residents about housing concerns this year.  Since the Feb. 27 town hall, leaders have conducted walk-throughs, established a housing hotline, and added employees to the Fort Lee Housing Office for greater oversight.  Housing town halls will be held quarterly for the foreseeable future.

“Fixing this, requires a persistent, cooperative effort from everyone.  We have to stay engaged to address things before they become problems,” Fogg said.

After the town hall, Fort Lee’s Facebook Live video will remain available for viewing.
