Clifton Young Named IT Director
For Prince George County 

Prince George County Administrator Percy Ashcraft has announced that Clifton H. Young has been named the new Director of Information Technology.

Young was chosen from a very competitive applicant pool, according to Ashcraft.  He will assume his responsibilities on December 9.

“We are extremely pleased to have Clifton join our executive team,” commented Ashcraft.  “He has broad knowledge and experience and is a good fit to advance our growing needs in technology.”

Young has a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Liberty University in business management and management information systems.  He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Liberty.

Young has been with Richard Bland College the last four years as a Technical Support Manager and previously worked for Spotsylvania Schools.  He also received valuable training on computer systems while serving in the United States Air Force, and also as a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor.

Throughout his military and civilian career, Young has received numerous awards and recognitions.

Young will oversee a staff of five people in the IT Department.  He will be a member of the Administrative Executive Committee.

Young lives with his family in Disputanta.  His starting salary is $91,600.
