Prince George County to Dedicate Roundabout for
PFC Michael M. Carey at October 25 Ceremony

Prince George, VA – PFC MICHAEL M. CAREY, 20, of Prince George, Virginia, died during patrol in Al Anbar, Iraq on May 18, 2004. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. At the time of his death, PFC Carey was survived by his daughter, Mia, who was born two weeks before he died, father William and stepmother, Darlene Carey, mother Sandra Rhodes and stepfather Robert Rhodes, sister, Tanda Murphey and two brothers, Kristopher Carey and Travis Rhodes.

Interment: Merchants Hope Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia

On October 25, 2019, the Courthouse Road and Allin Road roundabout will be formally dedicated the "PFC Michael M. Carey Memorial Roundabout".

The ceremony is by invitation only, and the media is invited.
WHO: Prince George County Board of Supervisors; Percy Ashcraft, Prince George County Administrator; Carey/Rhodes Family; Fort Lee and VDOT.

WHY: To honor a local soldier who gave his last full measure of devotion.
WHAT: Dedication ceremony for VDOT roundabout at Courthouse and Allin Roads
