PETERSBURG — Nearly 10,000 votes were cast to select the area’s Best of the Best for 2019. The awards show to reveal the winners will take place at the Beacon Theatre, 401 N. Main St. in Hopewell on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The yearly event, which features a live show and red carpet, is sponsored by the Progress-Index, the Virginia Gateway region and local chambers of commerce. Best of the Best serves to highlight the best companies and organizations in the area in dozens of categories like food and drink, home services and local brags, as chosen by local voters. This year saw almost 10,000 votes cast, up from 6,000 last year.
“Without the Hopewell/Prince George Chamber, Petersburg Chamber, Dinwiddie Chamber, Colonial Heights Chamber and the Virginia Gateway Region partnering with us, this opportunity for a live show highlighting our local businesses would not happen,” said Progress-Index Publisher Craig Richards. “So, we want to thank them for partnering with us to promote the best of our region.”
