(Prince George, VA) – Officer Involved in Crash 

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at approximately 11:36 p.m., a Prince George police officer was injured in a two-car crash in the 4800 block of Ruffin Road. The officer was transported to Southside Regional Medical Center with minor injuries and was later released. The female driver complained of injuries; however, was not transported. The officers emergency equipment was activated at the time of the incident. The female driver pulled over to the right of the highway, believing that she was being stopped for a traffic infraction. The officer was attempting to pass her for a priority call for service. The driver realized that she was not being stopped and abruptly came back into the lane of travel striking the passenger side of the police vehicle. 

Police have charged the driver with failure to yield for an emergency vehicle.
