Prince George man dies after crash in Isle of Wight County


The victim was returning home from visiting his wife’s grave; his obit says she died three months ago to the day the accident happened

ISLE OF WIGHT — A Prince George County man who died following a car crash Sunday afternoon on U.S. Route 460 apparently had a heart attack behind the wheel prior to the accident.

According to Virginia State Police, Louis M. “Mike” Zaborsky, 75, died at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, where he had bee taken following the accident. Police said Zaborsky was driving westbound on Route 460 near Windsor when he crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the highway. The car struck a mailbox and fence before stopping in a ditch.

Zaborsky was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

An obituary for Zaborsky stated that he had suffered a heart attack on the way back from visiting his wife’s grave. According to the obituary, Ellen Zaborsky died exactly three months from Sunday, when her husband’s accident occurred.

State Police said the accident still is under investigation.
