PRINCE GEORGE — The members of Oakland Baptist Church, 12601 Prince George Drive in Disputanta, are pleased to announce the appointment of The Rev. Lee Woodcock as senior pastor.
Pastor Woodcock and his wife, Taran, of 14 years have two sons; Laine, 12, and Noah, 11; and a daughter, Gibbs, 4.
Woodcock holds a Master of Arts in Christian ministry with concentrations in discipleship and church ministry from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and he had previously served at Oakland as the director of Family Ministries and Outreach under The Rev. Robert Livesay.
He is a veteran of the United States Air Force and was ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry by Hyland Heights Baptist Church in Rustburg, Virginia, where he had served previously as the preteen director before being called to Oakland.
There will be a commitment service during the church’s regularly scheduled Sunday worship service on Nov. 25, at 11 a.m.
