Update: The closure of the Benjamin Harrison Bridge is now scheduled for tonight, October 30 from 8 p.m-6 a.m. Use the posted detour route during work hours.
Sunday, October 28 and Monday, October 29 from 8 p.m.-6 a.m., weather permitting. The bridge is located over the James River at the Prince George/Charles City line and carries approximately 4,500 vehicles per day.
Local drivers are encouraged to use the posted detour to avoid delays:
- Take Jordan Point Road (Route 106/156) south to Route 10 west. Take Interstate 295 north to Route 5 (Exit 22A) back to Jordan Point Road (Route 106/156).
Through travelers can use Interstates 295 and 64 or the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry as alternate routes to the Hampton Roads area.
