The Board of Supervisors at its October 23 meeting began review of a new lease agreement for a proposed adventure park and authorized a public hearing for its next regular meeting.
Earlier this year, the BOS had approved a lease agreement with Tree Time Adventures, Inc. to operate an adventure park at New Scott Park. County Staff and the developer have been working to finalize the lease since that BOS approval, but what emerged were changes that now require the BOS to finalize the lease again and hold a public hearing.
The public hearing on the lease will be held at the November 14 meeting. The BOS has had also twice tabled a Special Exception request by the developer for the project, and did so a third time Tuesday night and will take that matter up again on November 14.
County Administrator Percy Ashcraft said the adventure park lease agreement will also be discussed when the BOS holds a retreat beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, October 29.
Other matters to come before the BOS at its Meeting:
• Received the Quarterly Financial Report.
• Received an update on the 2018 General Election.
• Unanimously approved awarding a contract to Enteros Design in the amount of $57,141 to conduct a feasibility study for the Central Wellness Center.
• Held a public hearing and unanimously approved abandonment of Route 730, Chudoba Parkway.
