This 14 year old little lady cat, Skamper, was lost on September 13, 2018 from the Days Inn Hotel - Exit 45 in Prince George County. The family had evacuated Washington, NC ahead of Hurricane Florence when she slipped away. John and Maggie Brienza returned to the area to place fliers in area mailboxes on September 22, 2018 after searching the area on foot.
Skamper was spotted on September 23 and, following the advice and instructions from Miss Erika Gunn of the Prince George County Animal Services and Adoption Center, trapped on September 27 by Keith and Donna Traylor. The Traylors live on Gravelbrook Road in South Prince George, about a 1/4 mile from the hotel. Mrs. Traylor is an Administrative Assistant in the County’s Administration Office.
With the continued help of Miss Gunn, photos were sent to Mr. and Mrs. Brienza for verification. They drove up today to retrieve Skamper and made a donation of two large bags of cat food to the center. Mrs. Traylor declined the reward money, asking that it be used for the Animal Shelter were Mrs. Brienza works in NC. Mr. and Mrs. Brienza opted to leave part of the reward money at the Prince George Animal and Adoption Center as a donation to show their gratitude.
