If your animal is lost, please call the Prince George County Animal Services and Adoption Center at (804) 991-3200, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and leave a message. Give your name, address, phone number, and a complete description of the animal. We ask that owners visit the adoption center in person every few days to search for their pet there. Stray animals are held for 7 days if there is no form of identification or 12 days if they are found with a form of identification, such as a collar, name tag, microchip, or tattoo. After the appropriate holding time, animals become available for adoption, rescue, etc. If your animal returns home, please notify the shelter so that it can be removed from the lost animal list.
