The Finance Department is committed to providing reliable information and quality service to our customers, who include citizens, elected officials, County administration, other County departments, vendors and employees. The functions of the Department include payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, general accounting, grant administration and financial reporting.
Budget -- The Finance Department works closely with County Administration and the Board of Supervisors in the development of the County's annual budget and capital improvement plan. The process normally begins in December, with the issuance of the County Administrator's budget letter to Department Heads, and concludes with final adoption of the budget by the Board of Supervisors in April. Purchasing -- The Finance Department issues Invitations to Bid and Requests for Proposals for County departments. General Accounting – The Finance Department is responsible for ensuring accuracy and dependability in all financial transaction and reports. This includes the filing of reports with local, state, and Federal agencies, auditing accounts, and providing financial information to all departments. Accounts Payable – The Finance Department is responsible for paying all County invoices. Our department is responsible for Form 1099 reporting. Direct questions to Jean Hargrave, Accounts Payable Clerk, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Payroll – The Finance Department processes payroll and administers benefits for approximately 300 County employees. We are responsible for payroll taxes and employee benefit accounting.
